As I'm sure you're aware, we players tend to run around for the sake of it and play with dead body parts when we're supposed to be ascending a throne.įor me, I think it's his way of avoiding remembering what happened. It's a good choice narrative-wise to take control of the players moments to show them something shocking during a serious moment. I think the deliberate moments that the player has no control over is just so the player doesn't screw around in the story. They're helping to keep Omori focused on what he needs to do. Both of these things keep Omori from being lost and that's why Omori chooses to place them there. They send Omori back to the middle of white space when he ventures too far (so that he doesn't get lost in the endless space) and they bring Omori back to the beginning of black space after Omori finishes destroying a Basil clone. The red hands are under Omori's control and I don't think they do anything that would be against Omori's will. Sunny is just there to watch, which ultimately becomes Omori's undoing because Sunny starts to realize he's trapped inside an illusion. There's no reason to let Sunny explore the recesses of his mind, and that's why I think it's Omori intentionally exploring so he can destroy certain parts of Sunny's mind which Omori perceives as harmful to his plans. Yes that's why it seems more likely that Omori is actually the one in control the whole time. He just sits there and watches as Omori does things that are entertaining to watch. Sunny doesn't have a choice in anything, he's just an observer looking though the eyes of Omori kind of like a TV. He explores black space to kill all the extra Basil's that are trying to discover the truth. The reason why he explores the recesses of his mind is so that he can destroy/contain them in an effort to keep black space and headspace separate (basically Omori has to be close enough to touch an object to destroy it). The player just kind of decides where Omori goes, but the in game reason Omori does the things he does is because either Sunny or Omori is in control at that point in time.īut it seems more likely to me now that Omori is always the one in control. When Omori is exploring the deep recesses of his subconscious (The hidden library, black space, etc) that's Sunny in control. When Omori is fighting bosses and hanging out with his imaginary friends, that's Omori. At the beginning I thought it was a control thing, where both sides try to vie for power. I'm not sure who has control over Omori honestly.
